Easy Italian Meatballs and Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
Meatball Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 orange bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup onions, chopped
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp all-around seasoning
- 1 pack Italian mushroom spaghetti mix (optional)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Spaghetti Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 cans tomato puree (28 oz each)
- 1 can chopped tomatoes (14 oz)
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 orange bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp dry parsley
- 1 tbsp sugar
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meatballs:
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, bell peppers, garlic, onions, breadcrumbs, milk, and Parmesan cheese.
- Season with onion powder, all-around seasoning, and fresh parsley. Shape into meatballs.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the bell pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Add the tomato puree, chopped tomatoes, and all the seasonings. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add sugar at the end to balance the acidity.
- Cook the Spaghetti:
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
