Ingredients:
Onion
Green and Red Bell Pepper
Ground Pork
Hamburger
Garlic
Bread crumbs
Seasonings:
Mrs. Dash Blend
Italian seasoning
Oregano
Pepper
Parmesan Cheese
Cento tomato sauce
Red Gold diced tomatoes
Sugar
Preparation:
Finely chop the onion, green and red bell peppers, and garlic.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork and hamburger.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mixing the Meatball Mixture:
To the mixing bowl with the ground meats, add the chopped onion, bell peppers, and garlic.
Sprinkle in the bread crumbs and add the seasonings: Mrs. Dash Blend, Italian seasoning, oregano, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
Mix everything together until well combined. You can use your hands for this step to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
Forming the Meatballs:
Take small portions of the meat mixture and roll them into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Baking the Meatballs:
Once all the meatballs are formed, place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
Preparing the Sauce:
While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a large skillet or saucepan, combine the Cento tomato sauce and Red Gold diced tomatoes. Add a sprinkle of sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes.
Heat the sauce over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
Simmering the Meatballs:
Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the skillet with the sauce.
Gently stir to coat the meatballs in the sauce.
Reduce the heat to low and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serving:
Once the meatballs are done simmering, they are ready to serve!
Enjoy your homemade meatballs hot, served with your favorite pasta or as a delicious appetizer.
